Seguin for Paajarvi, Petry, 7th, 37th

A forward with top 6 potential, a defenceman with top 4 potential, a top 10 pick and a high 2nd that can be flipped for another first for Seguin who is not performing on the Bruins top 6 like they want him to.

Petry is currently our best defenseman so that is an overpay. Boston needs to replace Horton so let's make it Paajarvi, Hemsky, 7th and 37th.

Bruins not dealing from position of strength at all... Paarjarvi and Petry should be enough.

That would allow the Bruins to resign Horton an re-up Bergeron, who it would seem they have finally figured out is more important that everyone else.

Boston needs to reduce their cap hits, that is the only point of trading Seguin.

While including Petry may be an overpayment from Edmonton's perspective I guarantee that Boston wouldn't agree. If Edmonton only offered Paajarvi, Petry, 7th (less the 37th pick) Boston would turn it down.

If Edmonton wants Seguin (I think they do) they need to pay.

Also if you get Seguin, Edmonton can trade Gagner for a player with more value and skill than Petry. You replace Petry with an upgrade, replace Gagner with an upgrade and only give up no.7 & no.37 to do so. Sounds worth it to me.

yeah your wrong about that.

1st: Horton said he wants to test FA. Meaning he is gone, period. Unless Boston offers 1-2M more PER YEAR than what they think is a fair deal, Horton is not coming back.

2nd: Paajarvi + Petry for Seguin is a joke. Those 2 players wont get you a top 10 pick in this draft, they definitely wont get you Seguin.

3rd: Finally, Boston isn't desperate to move Seguin. They want to move him because they are paying $5.25M to a 3rd line center (similar to why J.Staal out of Pittsburgh made total sense). To get 1-2 players who can help Boston now at half the price with a potential top prospect in the 7th overall pick is something Boston should consider but isn't forced to do.

Take Tampa off the list for that money we would have kept Vinny.

the biggest issue was the recapture penalty a few years down the road and the $10M cash they were paying him. Way too much for a 2nd line center. Seguin is the perfect compliment to Stamkos.

That being said I think Barkov is a much cheaper and probably better player than Seguin (assuming they pick the big center).

This is what worries me the most about Seguin:

@ShawnHutcheon: #Bruins Chiarelli on Seguin, "He has to become a professional (on ice and off)."

This is the 2nd overall pick going into his 4th NHL season, making $5+mil a year that still needs to "become" a professional.

Being the best defenseman on a team w bad D doesn't mean much I'm afraid.
I really don't get why peoe suddenly think Seguin is no good.
Apparently there are some issues as he was demoted to the 3rd
Line but could have been a wake up shake up move. The guy has
Awesome skill and has shown it. To hands down claim that some
#3 pick in this draft is better is nuts. Oddly enough it reminds
Me of all of the anti kessel sentiment after that trade; also based on
(as of then) yet to be proven players. Kessel has ( and already had) proven
Himself at that point - just as seguin has now when compared to
A player in juniors.
